You cannot dream your way out of the trenches

Claudia

The saying "you cannot dream your way out of the trenches" refers to the idea that simply wishing or hoping for something to happen is not enough to make it a reality. The trenches in this context can be symbolic of difficult or challenging situations that require effort, perseverance, and hard work to overcome.

Dreams and aspirations are important as they can provide us with motivation and a sense of direction. However, it takes more than just dreaming to achieve our goals. We must take action, make plans, and work toward our desired outcomes.

This can be applied in various aspects of life, such as relationships, education, career, and personal growth. It reminds us to be realistic about our circumstances and the obstacles we may face while also encouraging us to be proactive and take a step-by-step approach toward our goals.

Nothing keeps people in the trenches like laziness.

It's one thing to be physically lazy and a different thing to be mentally lazy but to suffer from both is a disaster.

You send opportunities to people (even when you provide guidance), they do absolutely nothing with it.

A lot of people (especially women) just want to fast forward to the point where they head to the bank and cash out.

Zero input!

This is the energy that fuels the "baby girl" and "yahoo" industry. You just want money to spend even (especially) if it's someone elses money but in the actual fact, nobody owes you nothing.

Some of us have nothing and nobody to rely on.

If we fail, we have no one but ourselves to blame.

Therefore we cannot afford to wait around for handouts.

If I lose a job this minute, I am thinking of how to get the next 3k, 5k the next minute to atleast cover for transport, food etc. While we keep working to make shit happen.

In this journey of life: sometimes we stumble, sometimes we fall.

There are times when you even fall flat from a high-rise but you get up, dust yourself and keep moving because there's no other option than to keep moving.

That's why I can never understand people who sit around only with big dreams with no plan or effort on how to achieve them. Just waiting for a "miracle" or somehow to be taken care of.

The same for people who think being a single mother is a situation that calls for sympathy and donations. Also, those who choose crime over work and people who think praying from mountain to mountain hoping for a miracle without working will solve all their problems.

I can never understand it.

Life is already hard as it is, don't make it harder for yourself and your dependants.

You cannot dream your way out of the trenches.

In summary, the phrase is a reminder that while dreams and aspirations are important, they need to be supported by action and hard work. We need to be diligent in our efforts to overcome challenges and achieve our desired outcomes.
