Managing Baby milestones

Baby JamJam

Watching our babies grow and develop is a truly magical experience.

Every milestone that they reach is a unique and beautiful moment that we will cherish forever. Each stage of their growth brings so much excitement and joy, and at the same time, challenges and responsibilities.

As a parent, it is important to keep track of your baby’s milestones to ensure that they are growing and developing at a healthy pace.

Lets look at some of the major baby milestones, from birth to their first birthday.

2-3 months: Colic Stage

One of the most challenging stages for many new parents, the colic stage usually occurs between 2 and 3 months of age. During this period, your baby may cry for hours at a time, often at the same time every day. This can be difficult for you to handle, it can almost drive you crazy but be assured that it is a normal part of your baby's development and most babies grow out of it by around 4 months.

You can try holding your baby, singing to them, or playing soft music. My baby loves music. It worked like magic! You can talk to your baby’s pediatrician if you feel overwhelmed but it’s a phase that’ll soon pass I guarantee.

3-6 months: Sit-Up Stage

Around 3-6 months of age, your baby will start gaining more control over their neck muscles. This means that they will be able to lift their head up and look around. Soon after, they will learn to roll over and sit up without assistance.

To encourage this development, provide your baby with plenty of tummy time. This can help strengthen their core muscles and improve their overall motor skills. You can also get their first baby seat to support the process.

Once they master the ground, they are soon ready to move. The baby is would start to crawl. The ability to move to you Facinators them such that they move without even watching.

6-9 months: Teething Stage

Around 6-9 months, your baby will likely begin teething. This can be a difficult time for both you and your baby, as teething can cause pain and discomfort. Symptoms of teething may include drooling, chewing on objects, and fussiness.

To help alleviate their discomfort, you can give your baby cold teething rings, frozen washcloths, or gentle massages to their gums. It is also important to remember to clean your baby’s teeth regularly to prevent any issues from arising.

I did chicken drumsticks for my baby. He loved 🥰 it.

9-12 months: (Pre) Walking Stage

As your baby approaches their first birthday, they will start showing signs of wanting to walk. This can be incredibly exciting but also a little scary. During this stage, many babies will take their first steps while holding on to furniture or walls.

To encourage walking, give your baby plenty of opportunities to practice. Provide them with safe spaces to move around and encourage them to stand and take small steps on their own. Remember to always support them and keep your environment safe for their exploration.

Baby proof your home by covering sharp edges and removing delicate things that might hurt the baby. Don’t rely on your reflex to control the baby, they have the fastest fingers 😂. They’re always climbing and trying to do the unthinkable. You just have to keep your eyes on them.

Getting baby walker works sometimes, you can try it but with or without a Walker keep encouraging the baby to move.

The Big Day: First Birthday

The first birthday is a major milestone in your baby's life. It marks one year of growth and development and symbolizes the start of a whole new world of exploration and learning. At this age, your baby will likely be crawling or walking around, babbling, and starting to show their personalities.

Some mothers may feel bad that they cannot throw a big first birthday bash for their little one because they believe the baby may grow up and resent them for that but you have to face reality and do what works for you. Your beat is good enough!

You don’t need to break a bank to celebrate this special day. Simple things like making a homemade cake, hosting a small gathering with family and close friends, or creating a special photo album or memory book can make for a meaningful celebration.

In conclusion, baby milestones mark important periods of growth and development in our little one's lives. As parents, it is crucial that we monitor these stages to ensure that our babies are growing and learning at a healthy pace.

Celebrate each milestone with love and affection, and always remember to cherish every moment.
