It ended in praise

At the start of this decade I was living in Abuja. I went from being millionaire to being bankrupt. I abandoned 8months rent in Wuse, shutdown a salon at Utako, abandoned another salon with 6 months rent at Kado estate, a Toyota Camry and everything I had laboured for and moved back to Lagos empty handed because I had ran into too many troubles, lost my job, had a huge debt, was depressed and suicidal. I went through hell and back. Got married in a flash and ended it in a hurry. My life was a complete mess. I struggled! Ah! I did stuggle but see me here today. I haven't made it yet but in this my life's journey I have won many battles. There is really nothing too big for God. Give it time! A whole decade, nothing missing, nothing broken. My Halleluya belongs to the: Most gracious Most merciful Most holy Most high Almighty God All knowing Alpha and Omega Eternal redeemer Everlasting king Excellent Jehovah Master of the universe Maker of heaven a...

We Take Too Many Things For Granted In This Clime

Image
I've been reading with sadness about the lady who recently died from stabs just because a miscreant wanted to rob her laptop. So sad! If we want to dissect the issues, there'll be more than enough blames to go round. From the cold blooded thief to the first responders, the hospital, government etc. Of course, government takes the bulk of it. But what's the point?  May her soul rest in peace. 🙏 The neck is a very dangerous spot. Reminds me.. .Many years ago, I witnessed someone being shot in the neck. That instantly disconnected him from this life. Again, in December of 2012, I witnessed someone stabbed in the neck over a small argument. People were doing "eyah...eyah" when I quickly pulled out my car. I knew  the danger involved and didn't want to witness another death in that manner.  I was screaming "this guy go die here o! Let's take him to the hospital"  literary "over reacting".  He too still talk...

5 Money Habits For 2020

Image
Ever heard the saying "don't live a champagne lifestyle on a beer income"? You have to take that seriously this year if you want to take your finances to the next level. 5 Money Habits To Live By in 2020 1. Apply some level of discipline: Unless you are investing in something it's always advisable to buy only what you need per time. You already have steady bills/financial obligations. Focus on increasing income rather than expenditure. Spend less, get familiar with all your (periodic) financial obligations, cancel impulsive buying, set aside an emergency fund. Just as your income, structure your expenses and put them under a heading e.g rent,  flex allowance, family, health, charity, wardrobe etc. 2. Don't get into debt: Avoid unnecessary borrowing. Remember, cost of funds in Nigeria is very high. Try to live within your means and avoid spending off budget. If it's unforeseen, beyond your emergency funds and you must borrow, weigh your options prop...

Travel & See!

Image
San Francisco, CA  Life is a journey, not a single journey but a series of journeys. Journey refers to the act of travelling from one place to another. In a life journey you travel from birth (one place) to death (other place). Sometimes through success, other times through failure. In some cases, through tranquility and at times through chaos but it is impossible to remain at a spot. Again, chance encounters don't happen if you're staying in one place. If you don't make move, life will move you. Traveling is good for everyone regardless your status. It makes one modest, you see what a tiny place you occupy in the world. It is relaxing and sometimes, refreshing.
