The Power of Reciprocity: Let People Use You a Little.

Image
In a world often driven by self-interest and personal gain, the concept of letting others use you may seem counterintuitive.  However, beneath the surface lies a powerful principle: reciprocity and loyalty. Letting people use us a little is an investment in the strength of our relationships.  When we extend ourselves to others, even if it means allowing them to benefit from our resources or support, we sow the seeds of loyalty and mutual respect. Reciprocity is a fundamental aspect of human interaction, deeply ingrained in our social fabric. It is the understanding that when we give, we are likely to receive in return, albeit not always in a direct or immediate manner.  By embracing the idea of letting people use us to some extent, we create a foundation of trust and goodwill that can enrich our relationships and communities. But what does it mean to let people use us a little? It's about offering assistance, lending a helping hand, or providing resources without expectin...

Teenagers are definitely crackheads

Image
Raising teenagers and preteens can be challenging, but it's certainly achievable with the right approach. Drawing from my own experience with raising two teenage girls and currently guiding a third, I've learned valuable lessons along the way.  My relationship with my girls still thrives despite  physical distance, we maintain such a strong bond such that  sometimes when I momentarily step back, they come seeking for me.  As close as we are, I have not lost my position as parent and my consent   remains the seal for every of their lives decisions. Your teenager can shock you with their actions. They sometimes do things that will leave you wondering where you got it wrong or if you really got the right baby at birth 😂 Their minds run so wild, teenagers are definitely crackheads. One key insight is the importance of fostering a deep connection with each child. It gets to a point where you can still manage the relationship even from a distance (this...

Blind Spots In Marriage

Image
Claudia Nwankwo  Hitting the blind spot in marriage can be a challenging and delicate issue. In the context of a marriage, a "blind spot" typically refers to an area of tension or misunderstanding that one or both partners are unaware of or choose to ignore. These blind spots can potentially harm the relationship if left unaddressed.  Here are some key points to consider: 1. Lack of Communication: One of the most common causes of blind spots in marriage is a breakdown in communication. Sometimes, couples avoid discussing sensitive topics or their true feelings, leading to misunderstandings and hidden tensions. 2. Unmet Expectations: When partners have unspoken or unrealistic expectations of each other, it can create a blind spot. These unmet expectations can lead to disappointment and resentment over time. 3. Changing Needs and Desires: People change over time, and so do their needs and desires. Failure to recognize and adapt to these changes can result in a blind spot, as on...
