Parenting is a huge responsibility

Image
Claudia  Dear Parents, I hope we're not leaving the responsibility of "raising" our kids to teachers and helps alone. Money is not all it takes. Infact money is a small part in raising children. When you do get to spend time with them, What are you talking to them about? What life lessons are you sharing with them? How do you resolve issues among them? How do you relate with them? Especially your sons. I hope you're not just buying them PS5 to play their lives away. Are you teaching them grooming and cleanliness? Do your daughters know that being female is not an excuse for "entitlement mentality". In teaching them to have self-esteem/confidence I hope you remember to teach them to be humble and respectful. I hope you are raising them to use their initiatives. To think and reason to solve problems and not to look-on or un-look. Life has really changed and it keeps changing. The train is moving so fast it waits for no one. I hope we're living

Some Red Flags In HR

Long Hiring Window: Some organisations take about 6month to a year to wrap up an application process. This is unnecessary and wrong.  A person who needs a job, needs it quickly. If you are not ready to take new employees do not start the process besides you are not the only organisation looking to hire. You may lose good hands while wasting time. No Replies: Many HR managers are "guilty of radio silence" during hiring process. We understand that you have too many CVs to process but if you start early enough it shouldn't be problem.  If you put out job adverts, it is your responsibility to sieve through all the applications and get back to applicants.  You can use automated messages for the CV submission process but make sure to get back to applicants (including those who didnt make it through to the next stage) after every stage of the application process. Too many JDs: Some HR muddle up too many job descriptions for a simple task.  I.e. You want to higher a PR manager,

NIS Commissions Technology Building in Abuja

Image
Yours Truly In Abuja for the official commissioning of the Nigeria Immigration Service technology building at the NIS headquarters. The NIS has experienced tremendous improvements and development under the leadership of Muhammed Babandede MFR. The project which began in 2018 by Julius Berger construction company has now finally been completed and set to take off as the information hub and communication centre of the NIS. The centre will serve as an intelligence sharing unit that would work in collaboration with other security and intelligence structures in Nigeria and across the globe. The event would be graced by serving ministers and heads of service as President Muhammadu Buhari officially declares the building open. This project is one of the milestones of the Muhammadu Buhari led administration and an achievement of the Honorable Minister of Interior who is on a mission to "set a new security agenda for Nigeria".
