Did I Oversleep… or Did Life Just Move Too Fast?

I can’t remember when I did my 30s.

Just yesterday, I was a teenager, full of energy, dreams, and time that felt endless. And now? I’m forty-something, trying to piece together how the years slipped through my fingers so quietly. It honestly feels like I must have overslept for a minute or someone turned the hands of the clock too fast. Because how did we get here so quickly?

One minute, you’re figuring out who you are. The next, you’re expected to have it all together—career, family, purpose, stability. And somewhere in between, entire seasons of your life pass without you fully sitting in them. That’s the part that gets me. Not just that we’re aging, but that we don’t even get to pause long enough to fully enjoy each stage before the next one arrives.

And the truth? Life doesn’t wait.

Every single day, new people are born into this world, filling spaces, taking up roles, stepping into moments we once occupied. Someone else is now the teenager I used to be. Someone else is just starting out, while I’m here realizing I’m inching closer to being called a grandmother.

It’s humbling. It’s sobering, and if I’m honest, it’s a little scary.
Because it reminds me that time is not something we own. It’s something we are passing.

So What Do We Do With That?

If life is moving this fast, then there’s one truth we can’t ignore: Whatever you have to do, do it quickly.

Not in panic. Not in fear. But in awareness.

Say the things you’ve been holding back.
Start the business you've been planning.
Go back to school.
Take that trip of your dreams.
Fix the relationship.
Find love & Love deeply.
Rest when you need to.
Show up for your life.
Take that chance. Do it now!

Because there’s no perfect time coming. This is the time!

Don’t Sleep Through Your Own Life.

Maybe we didn’t oversleep. Maybe we were just busy surviving, growing, figuring things out while life kept moving as we were trying to keep up. But now that we see it, now that we feel it, and we don’t have to keep drifting.

We can choose to be present.
We can choose to be intentional.
We can choose to LIVE instead of just moving from one stage to the next.

One Day at a Time, But Fully...

I may not have been able to pause the past but I can slow down in the present, breathe and reassess my journey. So, I can feel my days more. I can appreciate where I am. I can stop waiting for “later” to become who I want to be. Because the truth is, "later" comes faster than we think.

Life doesn’t slow down for us to catch up… it moves on.

So whatever your heart is calling you to do, don’t wait."Do it now. Life moves faster than your excuses.”
